Let love and kindness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Kindness to others must also be paired with kindness for ourselves. We deserve our own love and care.
For example, if we see a friend working hard without a break, we may suggest a break, take a walk, a stretch, drink some water, eat a snack or even get some rest. We must also do this for ourselves when we noticed we’ve been overworked. Similarly, if we see a friend who is feeling lonely make time to hang out with them and talk. We can do the same for ourselves when we make time to be with those who make us happy and when we share what’s on our mind. Filling our own cup means we will then have enough to fill others.
