Norm and Sylvia Kempf’s Daughter Ordained

LeShea Avery, daughter of First Lutheran members, Norm and Sylvia Kempf, was ordained on March 24, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Redfield, South Dakota. This is LeShea’s home church. LeShea graduated with a TEEM certificate from Wartburg Seminary and was approved by the Candidacy Committee of the South Dakota Synod, ELCA.

LeShea graduated with a TEEM certificate from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa and was approved by the Candidacy Committee of the South Dakota Synod, ELCA. She served as a TEEM Minister for 7 years at a 3-point parish in South Dakota which included Trinity Lutheran in Carthage, South Dakota; First Lutheran in Artesian, South Dakota; and Immanuel Lutheran, a rural church near Iroquois, South Dakota. She then served Our Savior’s Lutheran in Redfield, South Dakota, and Our Savior in Faulkton, South Dakota, for one year. She is in her 3rd year of serving Our Savior in Faulkton, South Dakota.

LeShea has received and accepted a call to serve Our Savior Lutheran Church in Faulkton, South Dakota, as a Minister of Word and Sacrament.
