Journey with God through Advent

By November 14, 2019News, Worship and Pray

Advent is a journey with God. We travel with God from where we are to Bethlehem and beyond.

  • Our Advent experience this year will begin in week one with the Annunciation where Mary says, “yes”, to the journey.
  • Week two lifts up the relationship between Mary and Elizabeth and the journey we make with family and friends.
  • Week three features John the Baptist and the journey we make with the larger community of faith.
  • In week four we arrive at the birth of Jesus and we contemplate the journey he and we make with the world.

Throughout this journey our fellow disciples will offer travelogues of the journeys they have made based on these themes. During our mid-week worship services on December 4, 11 and 18 at noon and 6:30 pm we will hear about some of these travels. An email written travelogue, crafted by our First friends, will also be sent every Wednesday. Join us as we journey the way of love.

Make plans to also enjoy a light lunch after the noon mid-week service at 12:30 pm and a light supper before the evening service at 5:30 pm.
