Building Project Update

By March 29, 2019News

by Brian Niebuhr

Work in the Courtyard has been delayed due to the weather. But, a significant amount of work has been done in other areas. The education wing has had walls rearranged and opened up, new HVAC and plumbing installed and new doors to the outside cut in the exterior wall. The framing is done in the kitchen. The bathroom and kitchenette in the lower level below the Activity Center have been moved from the original plan to the southeast room due to issues with the sewer line. Plumbing and framing for those bathrooms has been completed. The ramp, along with several trees by the Chapel entrance, have been removed to prepare for the construction of a new ramp. After Easter our worship services will move to the Activity Center. Several groups are working on improving the space for worship and make it more sanctified. You will notice new cosmetic improvements including new paint, replaced carpet on the stage and improvements in the sound and lighting. There is a group determining what we will use for the altar, font and pulpit and how the seating will be arranged. Change is ongoing and will continue for many months to come. Thank you to the staff and everyone for your flexibility and help in working around the changes and challenges.
