What music means to us… Music means getting up and dancing, rocking back and forth or swaying to the rhythm. Music means reflecting on times from long ago. Music brings joy, happiness, or even sorrow. Music helps us concentrate and sometime lets us stop in the moment and just feel.

The elders at the Cove and Harbor Houses in Williamsburg love music. When God brought the wonderful people of First Lutheran Church into our homes on God’s Work Our Hands Sunday, we were blessed. The music was amazing and the kids, as well as the adults, are so talented with their instruments. The people were so friendly and took time to chat and answer questions the elders had. All the elders have particular songs they love and several of the ladies played instruments in their earlier years. By listening to the melodies the members of First Lutheran brought us, these ladies, especially those who have some memory loss, were able to remember their days of playing. For days afterwards, I listened to the elders talk of how much they loved the music, the talent of the kids and how they once played. The residents and I are so thankful for the beautiful music and wonderful people of First Lutheran who visited us!
