The “Gifts of Hope – Giving With a Cause” market on December 2 and 3 at First Lutheran will offer the perfect gift for a teacher, hard-to-buy-for-person or loved one far away!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if no child in our city had to be concerned about what or even when they would have their next meal? Unfortunately, in our community, many children live on a daily basis not knowing for certain where their next meal may come from. If there was a way you could easily help rectify this situation, would you want to do it? For most people, that answer would be, “YES!” And, you CAN!
At the “Gifts of Hope” market you will have an opportunity to support the First Lutheran Church BackPack program and give a child and his/her family a meal(s). First Lutheran provides backpacks of food every weekend for 46 families in three Lincoln elementary schools. Your support will help provide the following:
- $10 donation provides one backpack (with a couple dollars applied toward a second backpack)
- $20 donation provides almost 3 backpacks
- $30 donation provides over 4 backpacks
If you would like to donate as a gift to someone on your Christmas list, we will have lovely cards you can give to a recipient telling them you have given to the First Lutheran BackPack program in their honor. The card is easy to mail, will slip in with a Christmas card and is a perfect gift for a long distant friend.
