Fair Trade Means Fair Price

By November 25, 2017Global, News, Serve

At the Gifts of Hope Alternative Market, look for fair trade coffee, tea, chocolate and olive oil. Not only are these delicious gifts, they do a lot of good. Purchasing fair trade products means you support small farmers and their communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.  Equal Exchange, through which First Lutheran gets these products, buys directly from farmer co-ops, sets a guaranteed minimum purchase price, protecting the farmers from fluctuations in the market and ensures the majority of dollars spent go directly to them and their communities. Equal Exchange also supports sustainable and organic farming in these areas. You can feel good about giving fair trade gifts!

Stop by the Fair Trade display at the Gifts of Hope market on December  2 and 3. You are sure to find something for many on your holiday shopping list!
