Columbarium and Memorial Garden
First Lutheran Church maintains a Columbarium and Memorial Garden in the courtyard off the Commons.
Why a Columbarium?
Cemeteries have long been part of church properties over the course of the years, providing dedicated Christian burial grounds for members of the congregation. IN recent years cremations have become more common, thus we simply continue a practice of ages past.
Who may be inurned in the Columbarium?
Current members of First Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Nebraska, a member's child before baptism, and former members of First Lutheran Church at the discretion of the Columbarium Board may be inurned in the Columbarium.
Christian Inurnment worship services will be conducted under the supervision of a pastor of this congregation.
Specifications
Each niche will accommodate the remains of one person.
The full name of the deceased, with the dates of birth and death, will be engraved on the face plate of each niche.
To reserve space in the Columbarium, complete the "Columbarium Reservation and Use Agreement" form and send it to the church office along with full payment. Checks may be made payable to First Lutheran Church.
