What does it mean to grow up in the Christian faith? Throughout the youth ministries of First Lutheran Church, whether it is through education, fellowship, service, study, or fun, the goal is to help our youth live into the Christian faith. We are firm believer’s in the fact that being a Christian isn’t about a decision, but rather it is about a life style. As our youth move from Middle to High School and beyond we encourage them to us their God-given gifts in the congregation, to form relationship with their peers and the generations before and after them. Our youth ministry program is alive and well here at First Lutheran, come and see for yourselves. |

Building Connections with Youth
The teenage years are a time of great change and development - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. At First Lutheran, we know that youth's connection to the church during their teens years is crucial to their faith formation. Our youth ministry programs seek to provide youth with a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore who they are and who they are becoming, and encourage them to develop a deeper relationship with God and live their lives as disciples.
In both our middle school and senior high youth group's, we balance fellowship activities with group building, learning, and service opportunities. We seek to involve youth in the greater life of the congregation and the community so that they can realize how much they have to offer. We also work hard at developing relationships between youth, parents, and other members of the congregation who are gifted for mentoring youth, so that they always have someone to turn to when in need of support or a listening ear. We have found that this holistic approach to youth ministry helps us in our ultimate goal of lifting up faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. |
