Thanks for a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School!
A HUGE thank you to all of our participants, helpers, teachers, volunteers, and kitchen help for making this year’s Vacation Bible School a success! We had a fantastic week!
It was great to hear the sounds of music, laughter and excitement ringing through out the “Canyon”, from the chapel to the Activity Center, from the Upper Room to the Sanctuary. With the help of our Canyon Critters, Liz the Lizard, Max the Praying Mantis, Olivia the Owl, Blossom the Burro, and Felix the Fox, the daily themes of Rejoice, Pray, Ask, Tell, and Seek came to life. Participants enjoyed making crafts, singing songs, playing games, and discovering the “Wonders of the Word” as they heard stories of God’s faithful people who were amazed and in awe of God’s power, love, and faithfulness. Students learned about how Miriam was able to rejoice and give thanks while singing, dancing and playing the tambourine. Students learned that they could pray to God for their hearts desires as the learned the story of Hannah. Experiencing the story of Jesus calming the storm, they learned that like the disciples we can ask for God's help whenever we need. Participants learned to use their voices to help tell others about the wonders of the word, like those who witnessed the power of Jesus' healing and help spread the good news both far and wide. Finally, just like the four friends who went to great lengths to seek Jesus' healing for their friend who could not walk, students learned that we can seek the help and protection that comes from God alone. |
