Adult Learning

At First Lutheran we believe that learning does not end when one becomes an adult but that all of God's children, no matter their age, are continually growing and learning in faith.  First Lutheran offers several opportunities throughout the week for adult learning using a variety of formats.

We invite you to participate in any of these classes and gatherings as you are able.  Looking for something different?  Speak with This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Grief Journey Class

The Grief Journey class is offered each year in the fall and again in the Spring after Easter. These combination instruction/discussion sessions will be co-facilitated by Janice Bennetch and Cynthia Holt who have experienced their own personal grief journeys and have agreed to team up to share their knowledge, to impart a touch of God's love, and to comfort and empower you in your time of loss. The class runs five or six weeks depending on the time of year.

Learn what you weren't taught about grieving and how to heal. Discussions will focus on issues concerning your individual grief journey, with emphasis on coping during the upcoming holiday season.

Bible Study

Weekday Bible Study sessions provide adults with the opportunity to study a book of the Bible from start to finish in a relaxed atmosphere.

We offer two separate one-hour sessions,  5:45 pm Tuesdays and 10:45 am Wednesdays, to accommodate a variety of schedules.  The current study focus is the book of Romans.  All are welcome to join the discussion at any time, the only requirement is a desire to learn more about God's Word.

What's Next?

In addition to Adult Forum, there's always a second adult learning option on Sunday mornings.  Right now, we're considering topics and formats (and names!) for this option.  Meet with us on September 19 and 26 at 9:30 a.m. (lower level, beneath the Activity Center--look for the signs) to share your thoughts.
