Learning and Growing aren’t options for Christians—they’re part of who we are, by definition, as disciples. More than merely gaining knowledge, we experience true faith formation as we learn the stories of the Bible, gain skills for serving and sharing, and ponder the eternal question, “What does this mean?” As we grow through life, we mark special occurrences with blessings and rites through our Milestones Ministries.

Parish Protection Program: With a commitment to providing a safe environment for all our children, First Lutheran participates in Safeguarding God's Children, a program geared to preventing and responding to child sexual abuse in everyday life and in ministry. This program emphasizes screening of all adult volunteers, provides clear standards for appropriate vs. inappropriate interactions in ministry, and offers guidelines for training and supervision. All adults who work with children and youth at First Lutheran are required to participate in the annual Safeguarding God’s Children training and to submit to a background check.
