Youth
Sixth Grade
Sixth Grade is a year of many transitions and that isn't any different in the church. We use the 6th grade year as a time of transition to and preparation for our confirmation ministry. Sixth grade students become a part of our middle school youth ministry program and that year in Sunday School is designed to prepare them for entering into First Lutheran's confirmation ministry.Middle School Ministry
The middle school ministry here at First Lutheran includes 6th-8th graders. This group, or FLYP (First Lutheran Young People) as it is called, gives opportunities for growth in relationships, in faith, and in discipleship through creative activities in fellowship and service.Confirmation Ministry
During the 7th, 8th and beginning of 9th grade years youth are involved in our confirmation ministry. This ministry includes education, team building, fun and experiencing what it means to be faithful disciples. It is also an intentional time for developing relationships, deepening faith, learning more about what it means to be a Lutheran. The goal of all of this is to nurture, educate, and prepare disciples to work in God's kingdom today and throughout their future. Confirmation ministry takes place during Sunday School where we look at the Old and New Testaments. Education also takes place during retreats that take place several time a year and cover the contents of the Small catechism plus a few other important topics.Senior High Ministry
Senior HIgh students need something a little bit deeper and more conversational as they experience having to make hard decisions and choices that will affect their futures.
