"JUST 30 MINUTES" to Learn and Grow

Here are two opportunities for enriching your faith life and enjoying the company of others.

First Half - this new experience gathers for just 30 minutes - the first half of the learning hour in the Chapel from 9:30 - 10:00 on Sunday mornings. It's a great opportunity to "test the waters" of lifelong learning.

30-Minute Morsels - food for the hurried soul - This half-hour gathering meets from 10:00-10:30 Sunday mornings in the Upper Room. Like "First Half," this is a very accessible learning time, with content geared toward those who have children in their lives - and may need a nibble of nurture themselves. Parents, godparents, grandparents, uncles and aunts - anybody who has kids in their life - can digest and discuss things like "Kids in worship", "How to talk about faith at home", "Kids say the darndest things (and ask the darnest questions)", "New and fun table prayers and devotions", "What's a good Bible for my kids?", "Prayer beads and ativities with kids."

Just 30 Minutes will be taking a break for the month of December.

JETS

Jesus Eriching Through Study (JETS) is back again for anew Sunday School year, and we would love for anyone looking for an adult education opportunity to join in. JETS isn't just for young adults - on any given Sunday you will find a room filled with a 20-something single person, a married couple with several elementary age children, people close to retirement, and everything in between. If you enjoy a relaxing atmosphere with discussions about how your faith should affect your daily life, then JETS is the place for you. We will begin on Rally Day, September 7 and will kick off the year with the DVD curriculum "What's So Amazing About Grace" by Phillip Yancey.

Grief Support

A Grief Journey class is being offered Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30, October 5 through November 23. These combination instruction/discussion sessions will be co-facilitated by Janice Bennetch and Cynthia Holt who have experienced their own personal grief journeys and have agreed to team up to share their knowledge, to impart a touch of God's love, and to comfort and empower you in your time of loss. Learn what you weren't taught about grieving and how to heal. Discussions will focus on issues concerning your individual grief journey, with emphasis on coping during the upcoming holiday season. Please contact the church office of you are planning to attend these classes or have questions at 488-0919.
